What is this Sarbreenar campaign all about?

1. The core game is played at game conventions all around the UK. . Some people manage to travel all around the country just to play and others catch it when they can. Events are announced in the "News" section of the website under Forthcoming Events.

To play you need a first level Dungeon and Dragons character. This is generally a standard character and if you are familiar with the game you will find it easy to create one. There are just a few house rules to give everyone an equal start and to create some local atmosphere. You can find these rules and download a character sheet in the Rules section of the website.

Once you've created a character just come along to one of the events and get a ticket to play (approx 4 pounds sterling with one pound going to charity). There will always be other players starting out at first level or you may choose to join up with a more experienced group. You will be warmly welcomed.

The games are like traditional D and D played around a table but the stories often form a much bigger story line that sometimes runs over years. The friends you make will be there when you next play and so will any villains that you may have upset.

2. The second way to play is that once or twice a year some player dress up as their character and come to a Live Interactive game. For example characters have been on trial for murder with a courtcase, judge, jury, advocates, character witnesses and perhaps some shocking revelation at the end of the trial.

3. The third way to play is on the Noticeboards on the website. You'll find these in the Streettalk section. Some players are actively running conspiracies, courting, trying to talk their way out of jail, lobbying for change etc and talking as their own character on the boards. You could set yourself up as a travelling storyteller or a courtesan, or an ambassador from a foreign power or a city guard or a fortune teller or a ratcatcher or a priest of one of the existing gods of the City.

However you choose to play – do join us. You will be made very welcome.
